What to expect
What happens when you call
1 · An advocate listens
A trained advocate answers and listens to what's going on. Share as much or as little as you want. You can stay anonymous.
2 · You go over your options
We can help you develop a safety plan and discuss all your options, including shelter, counseling, and help with legal paperwork. Everything is your choice.
3 · Ongoing support if you want it
If you want ongoing help — a safe place to stay, court accompaniment, support groups — we can connect you with the right people. When you are ready, we will be here.
All crisis services are free and confidential under California Evidence Codes 1035 & 1037. Advocates can also respond in person 24/7 — in Mariposa County at the request of the survivor, law enforcement, or hospital staff; in Merced County, in-person response is arranged through law enforcement or emergency-room staff.
