The Drop-In Center

Services are free, and no appointment is needed. Every weekday you'll find:

Hot lunches cooked and served daily (must sign up by 11:00 a.m.), plus sack meals to go
Coffee and snacks
Hot showers
Laundry sign-ups (offsite)
Wi-Fi and tablets for on-site use
Mail and telephone access
Socialization groups and tele-meeting access
Program specialists to help you set goals

Heritage House serves community members in recovery from substance use and those experiencing homelessness or housing instability. Each person who enters is treated with dignity and respect and as an individual with unique needs, and our program specialists can work with you to achieve your goals in an environment of inclusion and acceptance.

Housing services

Are you houseless or at risk of losing your housing? Our Housing Navigator or Training Specialist can assess eligibility for housing programs, provide case management and advocacy, help break down barriers to obtaining housing, assist with applications and documentation, and offer the supports needed to help you attain and maintain housing over time.

Healthcare navigation

The Healthcare Navigation / Enhanced Care Management (ECM) program serves Mariposa County adults experiencing houselessness, at risk of becoming houseless, or recently released from incarceration with complex health and behavioral health needs. Navigators help with assessments, benefits enrollment, referrals and follow-ups, appointment scheduling and accompaniment, recovery coaching, and safety planning.

Recovery supports

Heritage House provides peer counseling, recovery coaching, and relapse prevention groups, plus substance use disorder (SUD) navigation and medication-assisted treatment (MAT) support. If you or someone you know is experiencing difficulty with substance abuse, we can help you access services, navigate systems, and remove barriers to recovery. We also provide in-jail services and re-entry case management, transportation to AA meetings, and recovery supports for Drug Court participants. Our five-day CCAR Recovery Coach Academy© trains community members to guide, mentor, and support others in recovery.

Pantry

Emergency food boxes are available as needed. Scheduled food box pickups are available by appointment on Tuesdays. Call (209) 966‑7770 to schedule a pickup.

Sanctioned classes

Mariposa Heritage House offers court-approved intervention programs, including Batterers Intervention (BIP), Child Abuse Intervention, and Anger Management.

Batterers Intervention Program (BIP): A 52-week program with separate men’s and women’s groups. Enrollment is $60, which includes enrollment and class materials.
Child Abuse Intervention: A 52-week program. Enrollment is $30, which includes enrollment and class materials.
Anger Management: A 20-week program available for both court-mandated and voluntary participants. Enrollment is $30, which includes enrollment and class materials.

Weekly class fees are based on a sliding fee scale ranging from $5 to $30 per class.

The impact of recovery services

It costs 88% less per year to keep a person sober and a family functioning at Heritage House than to work with individuals in the justice and social-service systems.
