Mariposa Family Resource Center
Empowering and strengthening families — a place for families to gather to feel supported, valued, and empowered. Our center is an inclusive space for all families, regardless of background, ethnicity, or socioeconomic status.
Neighbors helping neighbors thrive. The Mariposa Family Resource Center is dedicated to strengthening families and empowering individuals by providing compassionate support, accessible resources, and opportunities for growth. We strive to build a resilient, connected community where every person feels valued, supported, and equipped to thrive. Through collaboration, education, and advocacy, we work to enhance well-being, promote self-sufficiency, and foster a safe and nurturing environment for all.
We don’t wait for a crisis to happen. We build the skills, relationships, resilience, and connections that help prevent families from experiencing one.
Parent education
The Mariposa Family Resource Center offers an evidence-based parenting practice program called “Love and Logic” every 2nd and 4th Friday of the month. Our Love & Logic parenting education is also available for parents and caregivers of children with special needs and developmental disabilities, and is available online for North County residents.
Nurturing Parenting is a family-centered, trauma-informed program offering evidence-based classes that promote positive parenting techniques, strengthen family relationships, and foster the healthy development of children. The curriculum covers child development, positive discipline strategies, building self-esteem, and healthy communication, taught through presentations, group discussions, and interactive activities. Classes are tailored for parents and caregivers of infants, toddlers, preschoolers, school-age children, and teenagers.

Childbirth Education classes are tailored specifically for young parents and led by experienced and certified childbirth educators. The curriculum covers the stages of labor, pain management techniques, breastfeeding, newborn care, and postpartum support, and classes offer an opportunity to connect with other young parents going through similar experiences. Flexible schedules include weekday evenings and weekend options, offered as a multi-week series or a condensed one-day workshop.

Peer support groups
Grief support
Dealing with the loss of a loved one can be a challenging and isolating experience. We offer separate groups for children (ages 4–8 and 8–12), youth (13–18), and adults, led by trained and compassionate facilitators.
LGBTQ+ support
An inclusive environment where LGBTQ+ youth and caregivers can seek support without fear of judgment or discrimination, with separate sessions for youth and caregivers and resources on LGBTQ+ identities, rights, and mental health.
Natural disaster support
A compassionate space for individuals impacted by natural disasters to connect, share stories, exchange practical advice, and find information on emergency assistance programs, insurance claims, and rebuilding resources.
Groups meet in person, by online video conference, or a combination of both. To join, contact us, attend an orientation session, and then begin regular group sessions.
Family fun enrichment
We believe that engaging in activities together as a family strengthens parent and child relationships, builds lifelong memories, and promotes personal growth. Join us for monthly family enrichment activities — movie nights, crafts, and community gatherings. Call for the current activity calendar.
